The changing perspectives in UK manufacturing and IT
Technical marketing and IT PR agency Stone Junction has been appointed by IT specialist The Waterdale Group, to handle its PR activity across the UK and Europe. The win follows a successful year for Stone Junction and is the company’s ninth new client in the past eight months.
The Waterdale Group consists of three companies: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Enterprise solution specialist Ardent Solutions, leading Sage UK partner CPiO, which delivers Sage enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) software and IT consultancy, eSpida.
Each of the companies fulfil a unique role within the IT department of businesses, operating in a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, stock distribution, equipment rental and automotive. The group turned to Stone Junction due to the agency’s expertise in the IT sector.
“The UK is transitioning into a new position in the global market,” explained Rebecca Bradley, marketing director of The Waterdale Group. “Despite this, many manufacturing and distribution businesses in the UK are trailing behind the rest of the world in adopting new, effective approaches to materials and resource management.”
“In particular, UK industry has been slow to adopt demand-driven materials requirements planning (DDMRP) to improve production effectiveness and supply network efficiency. Other countries, particularly France, are already adopting demand-driven practices and UK businesses must act similarly to compete globally.”
“As the UK’s only supplier of DDMRP for Dynamics software and training, Ardent Solutions wants to educate operations managers in industrial businesses. Stone Junction’s track record of doing exactly that, is why we have chosen them to handle our PR.”
“At the same time, the solutions provided by CPiO and eSpida are invaluable in helping businesses to better manage their resources, customer relations and overall IT infrastructure. We believe Stone Junction is effectively equipped to aid us in reaching key stakeholders in these businesses.”

Meet the team
Stone Junction is managed by Richard Stone, whose previous experience includes PR campaigns for Arup, AIT Plc, CIENA, Parker Hannifin, Schneider Electric, SIG, SKF, Roche and WorldCom. Well over a decade in technical and technology PR has taught him that he is only just starting out. He is a very slightly geeky father of two who lives in Stafford with his long suffering wife, aforementioned children, dog and cat.
Junction has been going from strength to strength, building up its
client base and championing the achievements of technical and
engineering firms, some of which are in Staffordshire."
