The award for Best STEM Campaign, which was introduced to the awards calendar for the first time this year , recognises excellence in PR activity undertaken on behalf of companies operating in the science, technology, engineering or mathematics industries. A progressive agency, specialising in the engineering sector, Stone Junction and its Automation for the People campaign was described as, 'the clear winner' by the CIPR judges.
Created for longstanding client European Automation, the campaign developed the international presence of the company by integrating its fourteen international websites into one unified brand. Along with a new website, Stone Junction suggested a branded content platform called Automated. The platform includes unbiased content focusing on key industry trends. Automated is available in the form of both an online blog and a printed quarterly customer magazine.
Content from the campaign resulted in media coverage on all but one of the seven continents. In addition to coverage in national UK newspapers such as The Sunday Times, The Times and The Guardian, the campaign generated 311 clippings in trade and regional media, reaching a combined audience of 4,815,717 over a twelve month period.
“Stone Junction's emphasis on research and planning led to a well thought out strategy containing a range of innovative tactics,” explained the CIPR judges. “With a brief spanning across the globe, the entire campaign's implementation resulted in their client's clear satisfaction, making this a clear winner in the judge’s eyes.”
“The campaign included a vibrant mix of letters, press releases, feature articles and features contributions with the ultimate goal of leading opinion and driving sales for European Automation,” explained Richard Stone, managing director of Stone Junction. “Our win confirms that we delivered on our promises, in fact, Jonathan Wilkins, marketing director of European Automation now attributes ten per cent of total sales to the campaign It's great to be an award winning PR agency.
“We’re thrilled to have been the first agency recognised for our work in this category. As the 2015 winners of the Best STEM Campaign, we plan to continue with our hard work and deliver excellence again at the 2016 awards.”

Meet the team
Stone Junction is managed by Richard Stone, whose previous experience includes PR campaigns for Arup, AIT Plc, CIENA, Parker Hannifin, Schneider Electric, SIG, SKF, Roche and WorldCom. Well over a decade in technical and technology PR has taught him that he is only just starting out. He is a very slightly geeky father of two who lives in Stafford with his long suffering wife, aforementioned children, dog and cat.
Junction has been going from strength to strength, building up its
client base and championing the achievements of technical and
engineering firms, some of which are in Staffordshire."
