Regular readers will remember that a couple of weeks ago I asked for entries into my Ten Best Engineering Blogs list. Well, we had a small mountain of entries and I’ve selected some of the best here.

There’s a real mix of large and listed companies and smaller specialists here, which is really interesting. I think there’s a perception that Blogging is the preserve of large companies that can Blog every day, but here’s proof that small companies can do it and that a post every day isn’t essential.

So, in no particular order:

Doug Brock, loosely aligned with Rockwell:  Doug writes about factory automation in some real depth. There's a great mixture of newsy and personal material here and it's well worth a read.

Spirent Positioning:  Easy subscription and useful sharing tools mark out the entry from this communications network design business

Orthos Process Equipment: Orthos’ entry is a good example of how to communicate company news in an interesting way, without being too overtly sales driven.

General Electric: As you can imagine, there are some genuine resources behind the GE Blog, which wins points for regular updates and easy subscription.

Ion Science: Ion Science uses its Blog to share 'how tos' and technical information with its readers. I can’t imagine a better way to attract traffic!

Intertronics: A clean looking Blog for this adhesive specialist. Easy subscription and social media functionality helps the information stick!

Renishaw:  Perhaps the best of all the entries on this page from a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) point of view, Renishaw is engaging and active on its Blog. Well worth a read.

Solidworks:  Another entry from across the pond, Solidworks focuses on a lot of HR related material on this Blog. Don’t miss the entry on hiring a rock band for a corporate event!

PVL Ltd: PVL has a genuinely engaging and personal writing style. This Blog proves the theory that you need personality to be engaging and successful with social media.

So, some really interesting sites already, but let’s not stop here. Keep sending in your entries and I will move the list over to a page on the main Stone Junction's engineering communications web site. And, if you are already on the list, look out for the Best Engineering Blogs site badge coming your way soon.
