A LITTLE GEM OF INSPIRATION

E-mail newsletters are a brilliant way of building relationships with potential prospects and increasing revenue. Standing out from the crowd has to be the most important aspect in terms of getting your reader’s attention. Despite this, I can’t tell you how many I receive that, frankly, just don’t fit the bill.
Which is why, I was pleasantly surprised when I received a newsletter from switch distributor PVL. After reading it, I noted it applied relevance to current circumstances and a light-hearted sense of humour as an effective way of mentioning its products.
PVL’s newsletter contained a blog post on BBC4’s Desert Island Disc’s 70th Anniversary. What has that got to do with switches and sensors, I hear you ask? Absolutely nothing. But the witty method of including the product is something we can all learn from.
‘All the small things by Blink182 – “Speaking of small, PVL now offers theKelco CR20 microflow switch,” enthused David. “This compact in-line flow sensor is designed to detect extremely small flows. It’s also capable of monitoring flows – or the lack of them – of less than 5ml per minute”.’
At the end of the newsletter was a short line which read:
‘You are currently subscribed to our blog which is a simple, light-hearted look at the current goings-on here at PVL. If you couldn’t care less please unsubscribe here. You won’t hurt our feelings, honest!’’
Here at Stone Junction Towers we regularly produce blog content for lots of clients but one of our favourites is pump manufacturer Verder. We are constantly generating timely posts to be used on the blog and are rewarded with significant results.
As well as the benefits one would expect from a direct to customer, content PR, channel, we also see media relations impact; magazines and online channels run our content as part of their regular features. Some of our most recent posts include Verder pumps egg-celerate chocolate production and Snowmegeddon sweeps the UK (again). If you are in anyway involved in engineering, subscribing to receive the updates from the Verder blog is a must-do.
As you can see from the blog titles, here at Stone Junction we also set great store in timeliness and humour when writing blog posts. If you're interested in blog posts and email newsletters, then why not get in touch?
