After three months of tenacious fundraising, Staffordshire-based PR agency, Stone Junction, has raised over £1,787 for children’s disability charity, Caudwell Children. As part of their fundraising efforts, four members of the Stone Junction team travelled to Tilstock Airfield in Shropshire to take part in a 10,000ft tandem skydive.
Caudwell Children aims to transform the lives of disabled children in the UK by providing equipment, treatment and therapies for children and their families. Having selected the charity earlier this year, Stone Junction was keen to raise money for such an inspiring cause and set a fundraising target of £1,600. Upon completion of the jump on Friday May 6, 2016, the Stone Junction team had manged to exceed their goal.
Taking the leap from the Stone Junction team was account manager, Charlie Stroe, senior account executive Adam Steele and account executives Jessica Phillips and Laura England.
“The team at Caudwell Children appreciate every penny raised and the charity’s ambassadors were incredibly encouraging during the fundraising process,” explained Charlie Stroe, account manager at Stone Junction. “We organised a range of activities in the run up to the jump, including a social media training session for local businesses, which allowed us to exceed our fundraising goal.
“Stone Junction offers its employees one hour of charity time every month, so we were keen to put some of the time we had raised between us to good use. This was the first time we’ve done anything on this scale, but we are keen to help other local charities in the future and we would gladly encourage other businesses to get involved.”
Stone Junction provides copywriting, media relations, social media management and other comms services to B2B and B2C companies across the Midlands and the UK. The agency’s team of nine has strong technical knowledge and a wealth of industry expertise.
The agency won the Best Midlands STEM PR campaign award at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in 2015 and has been nominated for the best B2B PR campaign for this year’s Public Relations Consultants Association DARE awards.
