Stafford based scientific PR agency Stone Junction has appointed Natural Sciences graduate Leah Elston-Thompson as an account executive. This hire works to support Stone Junction’s growing client base and adds another technical mind to the team.
Elston-Thompson, graduated with a first-class degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Birmingham in 2015. Whilst at university, she studied a range of topics across biology and biochemistry, as well as being involved in a seven-month laboratory project on the development of new drugs as an alternative to antibiotic treatment. It was here that she developed an interest in technical writing.
This new appointment brings the Stone Junction team total to nine people, a considerable growth from the four-person team Stone Junction was just three years ago.
“I have always been interested in science and technology,” explained Elston-Thompson. “I am excited to build on my scientific background by working with the Stone Junction clients and to increase my PR and marketing knowledge.”
“In the last couple of years, our agency has seen considerable business growth,” explained Richard Stone, managing director of Stone Junction. “Adding Leah’s technical mind to our team will help us deliver our PR service for our growing base of technology and engineering clients.”
Elston-Thompson, who is originally from Bath, enjoys playing korfball in her free time and is keen to join a Staffordshire based Korfball team. Korfball translates as the Dutch word for basketball, and is a cross between basketball and netball.
