By Boris Sedacca, live from Let's Do Business, North Staffordshire

It is a beautiful, bright and breezy day as I look out of Executive Suite 8 onto the grandstand of the Britannia Stadium, home of Stoke City Football Club colloquially known as ‘The Potters.’

Today the Club is hosting Let’s do Business - 2012, the event which I blogged about yesterday, and the start has been surprisingly busy. Yesterday’s frenzied activity - laminating press clippings, setting up our banner, buying cupcakes to offer to visitors, and so on - looks like it might be paying off.

If you get a chance today, please come and visit us. You can enjoy one (or more) of our cupcakes. With 95 exhibitors and an expected 600 visitors, it is said Let’s Do Business will be the best Staffordshire inter-trading fair yet. You are welcome to come either for an hour, or to stay all day, a fantastic opportunity to promote your business and source new suppliers. This is one of the best opportunities to network in Staffordshire. Remember your business cards!

As I said in yesterday’s blog, we are promoting our own search for a PR apprentice in accordance with the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) apprentice scheme. Therefore it is refreshing to know that the North Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NSCCI), the organisers of Let’s Do Business, is also organising the Let’s Do Apprenticeships event.

This event aims to inspire firms to find an apprentice. The NSCCI says more local businesspeople are planning to boost their workforce through apprenticeships after hearing just how good for business the work-based trainees can be.
