OFFER YOUR OPINION ON UK MANUFACTURING IN THE RUN UP TO THE ELECTION

It’s been a quiet week for the engineering media in the UK, although the States have lost a huge raft of titles (see today’s post on the BMoN Blog by Chris Rand). These American title have been victims of the recession and the announcement has come, ironically, as the UK reports its second consecutive quarter of growth.

Staying on the subject of the economy, Peter Marsh, the Financial Times’manufacturing editor, is looking for UK manufacturers and engineering businesses to offer their opinion on the election. Send me an e-mail if you would like to help him out with an opinion or two.

John Taylor, the former editor of Datateam’s Electronics title has returned to the industry on Electronic Specifier Digital Magazine, which was launched earlier this year and is published on the web. The magazine compliments the Electronic Specifier website which launched in November 2005. Both provide up to date and useful design engineer’s resources in the shape of new products and technology from the global electronics industry. A warm welcome back from the technical PR world John!

Finally, on April 27, FBJ, a new quarterly magazine about all aspects of the multimodal freight industry (road, rail, sea and air transport), will launch. FBJwill also report on overseas markets and economic data. Aimed at freight service providers the new title will be edited by Chris Lewis.
