EYES TURNED SKYWARD

Approximately 3.1 million skydives take place every year. Out of this total, the average number of fatalities is around 55, which is less than one per cent of the jumps that take place. On a completely unrelated topic, members of the Stone Junction team will take part in an exhilarating charity activity to raise funds for Caudwell Children.
To help raise money in the run-up to the jump, we will be holding a social media training session at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre on Wednesday, 16 March 2016 from 08:30 to 09:30am.
On April 23, 2016, four brave and well-insured members of Stone Junction will jump from 10,000ft, free fall for half a minute while travelling at 120mph and land safely in a nice, soft patch of grass. Then we'll probably just have a brew.
Why would anyone willingly volunteer for this? Simple - we'll be doing it for an amazing cause.
We are helping to raise money for Caudwell Children. The charity provides family support services, equipment, treatment and therapies for disabled children and their families across the UK.
There are currently 770,000 disabled children living in the UK, with more than half of them living in or on the margin of poverty. Caudwell Children is unique in that every single penny raised goes directly to the disabled children it helps.
When asked about half of his employees jumping out of a plane, managing director Richard Stone had this to say: "The great artist (and third best member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Leonardo da Vinci said, 'Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.'
"I have no doubt that the team will love every minute of the skydive. They're raising money for a great charity and a cause that is close to their hearts. My only fear will be keeping their feet on the ground after the jump! We might have to stick to cake sales in future."
We are incredibly proud to be raising money for Caudwell Children. If you'd like to help us on our mission to stump up as much as possible, go to www.justgiving.com/teams/stonejunction and simply choose one (or more!) persons to donate to. I would be most grateful if you chose Adam Steele.
