THE BUSINESS OF COMMUNICATIONS
On April 3, the annual Midlands PR Conference is returning to Birmingham City University. Bringing together the region’s communications professionals, the conference will include expert-led panel debates, practical breakout sessions and insights from keynote speakers. Here Casey Sleigh account executive at technical PR agency Stone Junction, explains why the conference is a must-attend event.
The conference will be co-hosted by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA). This year’s focus is on The Business of Communications, to examine how PR delivers return on investment and assess the important role of PR in helping organisations to engage with their audiences, internally and externally.
The event will feature ten speakers from a range of industries, including BBC Royal correspondent Jonny Dymond. Also attending are Richard Bagnall, chairman for the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) and Kerry Sheehan the vice chair for the CIPR AI Group.
This year’s panel debate is Perfect Partners – How to maximise the effectiveness of working together. The day will also provide opportunities to network with like-minded industry professionals and explore topics that attendees may not have encountered yet in their day to day roles.
Following the success of last year’s sold-out conference, the event’s capacity has been increased. Several members of the Stone Junction team will be attending — come and say hi if you see us there!
If you weren’t planning on attending, I hope I’ve changed your mind. You can book tickets for the 2019 Midlands PR Conference: The Business of Communications, here www.cipr.co.uk/events/2019-04-03/midlands-pr-conference-ciprprca-business-communications
