This week has been a mixed one in terms of PR news: from MPs ‘misusing’ Twitter to Steve Jobs’ keynote speech. It had everything a media savvy creature could want.
However, closer to home, there have been some important media moves.
Matt Bailey has been appointed as deputy editor for Eureka, a Findlay Media publication, earlier this week. Bailey previously worked as a freelance journalist editing the IT titles VitAL and TEST for 31 Media as well as working on a range of other B2B titles.
Meanwhile, Cargo Systems editor Benedict Young has left the online publication.
And now, on to a few promotions; the first notable move of the week comes from Aerospace International which has recently appointed Bill Read as deputy editor of the Royal Aeronautical Society's publication for aviation professionals.
Global Media Publishing has promoted Aidan Turnbull to managing editor. Turnbull will manage the publisher’s stable of B2B energy publications, including Worldwide Independent Power, Middle East Power, Independent Power Asia and American Independent Power.
Finally, UK technology journalism veteran Gary Flood has been appointed editor of PublicTechnology.Net, the public sector ICT news and analysis community from Sift Media. Flood will build on PT.net’s reputation for comprehensive coverage of public sector ICT.
I’m certain we won’t find any of these folk celebrating on Twitter. Mr Weinershould take note.
