Awards hat-trick for Stone Junction

Staffordshire PR agency, Stone Junction, has been shortlisted for three Public Relations & Communications Association (PRCA) DARE awards, including the award for Large Consultancy of the Year. The technical agency will also compete for the Trade and B2B Campaign and Media Relations awards at the Midlands ceremony after being shortlisted in both categories. The event will be held on July 4, 2018.
Following a growth of 65.75 percent, Stone Junction achieved and surpassed its annual growth projections for 2017/18. Stone Junction’s success enabled the agency to increase staff to a team of 17 last year, spurring a £30,000 investment in expanding the agency’s Stafford office.
Following a successful recruitment drive, Stone Junction increased the starting salaries for its employees in 2017, in addition to objective-related salary increases for existing staff. In fact, the company has approved over 80 salary increases for its staff since 2013.
In 2018, the technical agency is competing against Midlands firm, Liquid, for the PRCA Dare Large Consultancy of the Year award. The company hopes that its investment in staff will award them the gold prize, following a series of award wins in 2017. Last year, Stone Junction achieved four Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) awards and two PRCA DARE awards for its campaign-related work.
“Stone Junction’s story over the last seven years has been remarkable,” explained Richard Stone, managing director of Stone Junction. “From its humble beginnings in 2011 — with just myself to fly the Stone Junction flag — we have grown to an agency with four separate teams, supported by myself, a designer, administrator, senior content writer and a business coach.
“But, it is not just growth that we care about. We are passionate about ensuring all our employees achieve all they possibly can. For example, because of our fast growth, we have needed to promote quickly. As a result, relatively new employees have taken on responsibly and projects they couldn’t have done at other agencies — that’s why one year at Stone Junction is worth three years at some other agencies.”
Alongside the Large Consultancy of the Year award, Stone Junction’s Engineering Communities campaign will compete in the Trade and B2B Campaign and Media Relations shortlists this summer. The PR and content campaign was completed on behalf of FTSE 250 listed engineering firm, Renishaw.
Building on previous award-winning campaigns for the same company, the goal of this campaign was to increase apprentice applications for Renishaw in 2018. As a result of Stone Junction’s PR efforts, the target was exceeded by 2.8 per cent, bolstered by an impressive 629 pieces of media coverage and an estimated two million social views.
The winners will be announced at the PRCA DARE Midlands awards ceremony, which will be held on Wednesday 4 July 2018 in Birmingham. The full shortlist can be found on the PRCA DARE awards website.
